Howdy All! We just had ice cream and feel great! Who knew two scoops of cheesecake ice cream was $5? But it was good... We had a great day today. It was bitter sweet knowing this was our last "normal" day, at least what we have come to consider normal. We are just getting the hang of all of this and we are getting ready to be done. It is amazing to us that the pastors and directors do this week after week, with group after group.
It was amazing, as we drove to the ice cream store (not Blue Bunny), how fast the scenery changed to BEAUTIFUL restored homes. Two story "mansions" lined the streets, no flood damage at all. It is amazing what resources and money can do. We have learned that it is more than that, though, as the difference between being poor and poverty has been thoroughly discussed.
Tonight's devotions were amazing as well. One girl has gone through all kinds of hardship lately. Her dad was fired from his 40 year job in April, and her mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy last week and found the disease had spread to her limp nodes. She now has to endure radiation and chemo. This will all happen when Bitsy, the intern, is here in New Orleans. Please pray for Bitsy's mother.
Thanks again for all your comments. The boys have not seen much of this, but the girls are. We tell them info from the comments that you leave. Thanks for allowing all of us to come down here. We are being stretched and growing in our faith. God is working here.
Mattea - The talent night video is posted yesterday. Matt also sang, but I have not been able to get it on here yet. Thanks!

A decided to leave a comment today on my blog name. I can't wait till you come home but even though I want you home don't waste you last day it's the perfect time to spread more gospel to the people of New Orleans. I have put my new formal dress in my closet and can't wait to go to the youth formal with you! I can't wait to here how you spent your last day. Keep preaching his word and spreading his name to the people of New Orleans.
